He hasn't eaten in three days and is very hungry but spits food out whne i put it in his mouth. He is not sleeping and id barley drinking. We have been to the doctor and talked to the doctor on the phone. Everything they have suggested has not worked. He won't even let me try to put food in his mouth, including ice cream. He is getting pain medicine too. Does anyone have any sugestions of what has worked for them. The doctor told me to let it pass but we could have another few days like this and i can't stand to see him so upset.

My son went through Hand,Foot and Mouth when he was 12 months old. Thank goodness he didn't have a bad case of it, but his mouth was still sore. I just used Baby Oragel (sp?) for a few days and he was feeling better. He did slow down on eating, and definatley didn't want to drink as much because of the pain from sucking. Try using a sippy cup that he doesn't have to suck on too hard to get a drink. Good luck!

Poor baby! I'd be worried about dehydration...thats serious in little guys like him. Wish I had some sort of advice I could give. If my son hadn't hardly had anything to drink in more than a day we'd probably be heading to the ER for fluids but they'd prob have to do it via IV which wouldn't be fun. Good luck!
