my daughter who is about to turn 2 has always loved having an evening bath every night since the day she was born! however a few weeks ago, she accidentally pulled the plug while she was in it and she thrashed around frantically screaming and jumped into my arms, ever since this bathtime has become a nightmare of me holding her in the bath to wash her. Ive tried showing her that she is too big to go down the plug hole and letting the water out so the toys stay there, here dad and I have taken turns going in with her, I showed her a kids cartoon about how the drains only for water. we have tried covering up the plug area. ive introduced new fun bathtoys, bubbles and coloured water and bath crayons and nothing works. I also resorted to putting a large plastic basin in the bottom of shower instead which she liked the first night until she discovered that the shower has a drain also. I hate forcing her in the bath and dont want to distress her further but I have to clean her somehow. has anyone else ever encountered this problem? my wee girls usually not scared of anything at all but she is definatly terrified of this. any suggestions are welcome, Id be very grateful for any advice, thanks, vanessa

Do you have any friends or family members with children around the same age? If so maybe you could invite them over and take a bath sooner and have her watch them take a bath and maybe she would notice that they're not scared and maybe want to join in. Just an idea best of luck, Shannon
