it has been proven that an inhaler with a spacer is just as affective, i also have a very active 3 yr old so i switched to the inhaler with a spacer and it is 6 breathes, wait a min then 6 more breathes so much less time. before we switched we would listen to a book on CD and i would sit adn hold nebulizer and he would turn pages, that was usually close to 10 mins and if we needed more time we would sing acouple songs or read another story. Goodluck!

i lay my kids on my lap or they just sit in between my legs and we watch some cartoons or i sing them a song etc. they scream when we start but once i get their attention they relax. and like jaycie said when theyre screaming and hollering theyre treatment is working even better. i know it sucks and sometimes it feels like youre torturing them rather than helping them but you know thats not the case.

I use to give breathing treatments to a little boy I babysat. I would sit him in my lap and we watched his favorite video. His mom also gave him treatments while he was sleeping. She kept Hershey kisses on hand and he got one as a treat if he sat still.

We would read books while giving the treatment, and when she was grouchy and we had to hold her for it then most times that actually works out better because when they scream it gets the treatment deeper in their lungs
