How do I get my 21 month old to drink his milk out of a cup? We finally got rid of the bottles but now he is hardly drinking any milk.

My daughter doesn't do well on milk, so we got her the Calcium Vita chews and we give her one of those a day to supplement the milk intake.

I'm having the same problem!  My pediatrician said that at this point it's ok if she doesn't drink milk as long as she gets enough Calcium and Vitamin D-if needed he said to supplement with a gummy bear type vitamin if she isn't getting enough Vitamin D.  I am still worried though,  She hasn't had milk in over 4 days!  Good Luck!

When he cries for his baba try giving him some other form of security object (pacifier or blanket) just till you get through the tough days.

I just weaned my 1 year old off the bottle. She would drink juice and water out of the cup but not milk. I cut her off cold turkey and only offered her milk in the sippy cup all day long and didn't give her anything else to drink. Trust me he'll take sips from it throughout the day when he gets thirsty. This only lasted 3 days, now she loves her sippy cups w/milk! I use the Nuby with the soft silicon tops. Good luck.

Try letting him use a straw. They also make sippy cups with straws. He may find it more fun...

My daughter still won't drink milk from a cup. I tried every kid of cup out there. She will drink water and juice from it but no milk. So I give her one bottle at night. She is 28 months old. I figure she'll give it up when she's ready, seems to be her pattern. Don't worry too much about them getting enough milk he should get his requirements met from yogurt and cheese if you give it to him for breakfast and lunch. Sorry I couldn't help! Who makes up these milestones anyway?! :)

I have four kids and my youngest is 28 months and he was he most difficult to switch.  At first I had to use a brand called Nuby's, he wouldn't take any other and I think it was because the nipple of it was silicone and similar to a bottle nipple.  Hope this helps.
