i started potty training when my daughter turned two and i had her potty trained in 3 days but night training took a couple of months . what i did was i bought this application online that was really helpful , but with you getting all these responses you wont have to buy it . it works a lot better if you start on a day where you'll be on vacation or your baby sitter or who ever watches him/her knows whats going on . one day all of a sudden i just stopped putting diapers on her and she had to wear big girl panties and every 15 minutes or so i would take her to the bathroom and every time she went to the bathroom she would get a reward . at night was the only time she would wear pull-ups and after a while she stopped peeing in them . when it gets closer to bed time , i wouldn't give her a drink up to an hour before she would go to sleep and i would make her go to the bathroom . i hope this works ! happy training !

I had the hardest problem with my daughter i thought she would never get out of diapers... i tried everything books n tricks from everyone... And then finally my great grandmom told me what to do and in a week she was going to the bathroom in her potty chair... So the first the i did was get her potty chair and it sang to her when she would go... I kept her home for a week from school... trust me ya need her to be home for a straight week... so i started on a monday and i blocked off my living room.. and oh yea i got her big girl underwear... and kept telling her diapers are dirty and nasty, and told her you dont wanna go to the bathroom in a dirty diaper.. then i put her underwear on.. n put the potty chair in the living room... and didnt let her go anywhere else... put on her favorite movies or shows.. whatever will keep her attention to be happy to be in the living room.. and next it took the first day all day.. she ate and drank in the living room... and i would make her just sit for hours on the potty chair... and when she finally just went pee pee in the chair thats when it just kinda clicks in there mind... until they go that first time.. they dont really understand it or what to do.. so i would just tell her every couple minutes hey ya gotta go potty.. or hey ya wanna be a big girl and go peepee..and trust me there will be accidents just be prepared for it... mostly my daughter would have accidents and i wouldnt freak out ya cant just say aww ya went potty in ur pretty girl underwear dont ya wanna go to the potty like mommy.... and oh yea i would take her to the potty whenever i had to go...it took about 3 maybe 4 days and she finally got it... now a year later oh my god am i happy trust me it is worth it... dont be worried if it takes her a while to poop either that is the one thing that even after she would go to the potty she still would have accidents in the middle of the night... it took maybe like 4 accidents before she finally got it.. oh yea i also got a potty chart with dora on it at target for like 2 dollars... and would let her put the stickers on it... ya gotta make her feel in charge in a way.. So good luck... let me know how it is going...

hi, im just goin through it with my lil girl and shes doin really well. the way ive done it is ..... i knew i had 2 weeks holiday off work comin (this week) so a month or so ago i got her used to the potty, most mornings or evenings we would have an hour of nappy free time, just to see if we could "catch a wee" just so she knew what a wee was!
then once that happend we lenghtend the no nappy time, then a week before i knew i was going for the "wearing knickers" i tried a whole morning without a nappy, then had a trial whole day, with just a nappy on for nap time.
its been just over a week now with knickers, and shes doin great . i stayed in for the first week with just a trip to the corner shop!! ( i was nervous to go out) lol
but today weve been for a day at the zoo and shes done brilliant, no accidents!!
i just carry the potty with me when ever we leave the house. ive also bought the dispossible absorbant changing mats by "pampers" to put under her whilst in the car or buggy.
she doesnt need a nappy on for naptime now, and she only has a slightly wet nappy in the morning.
poops were a bit of a problem for a few days but i think most kids have that problem so i didnt worry
i hope thats of some use .. good luck xxx
