Hi I'm Cassie and I just joined this site. My little girl is an angel for just about everyone else expect me. Unless I get stern with her. I don't want to be mean, but how do I get my point across if she is holding her ears closed or crying so hard she can't hear me?

you can be stern without being mean. It is possible that she does it because she knows that she can get away with it. decide on a standard that you want for your little girl and a consequence if it is not met. this could be time-out, or some form of discipline, but it needs to make an impression on your little girl so that she knows that you are the boss and not her and that her behaviour is unacceptable. i have two girls. One is just over two and the other is one this month. My oldest knows that if she is fussy/ crying all the time that she will spend time in her crib until she can play quietly. She knows that fussing doesn't get her any where so she doesn't try it very often. the consequence is always the same. I hope this helps.
