We cut the end off of it and when our 2 year old son asked for a pacitier we handed him that one.. We only had one night where he really didn't want to sleep but he then gave it to us a few days later and said I all done Mommy... He has been without one for 3 months and hasn't asked for it once... Hope this is helpful.. Best wishes and take care...

I always gradually weened my kiddos... Start with just at nap or at bedtime and gradually make it increasingly unavailable and he will eventually forget all about it.
