My son is going to be 3 next month. Is it normal for him to still talk in baby form (blabbers)? I can only understand a few words until he starts to blabber again.

hi. My son is a late talker and what I found to help him is to expose him to other kids. He is attending pre-school, is doing both speech therapy and occupational therapy and this also is helping hugely! I agree that every child is different and develops at his/her own rate but I would say the best thing to do is to get him evaluated by both speech and occupational therapists. Kids don't always just 'catch up' with developmental delays on their own ;o) hope this is helpful...

Toddlers often speak very uncleanly but an evaluation can't do any harm. You can go thru his doctor or the public school will do a complete evaluation of his hearing, speech, cognitive and physical abilities at your request.

I would contact your sons pediatrician and let them know your concerns. If there is an issue early intervention is key 😊

HI karen! my daughter is almost three too and she understand everything I say to her but there's only a few words I can understand when she speaks to me. I was so worried so I took her to her pediatrician and her pediatrician said it was totally normal that every child was different and she was going to speak when she was ready to do it. I recommend you to give him speech therapy that's what I'm doing with my daughter and it seems to be working.

Is year 3 year an only child? The reason I ask is my oldest son had similar problem. When he was around other children it helped alot. We also did a techique a speech pathologist friend told us. When he is misprouncing a world correct them quickly. And have the child watch you mouth and say the word correctly. And have him practice say with you while watching you mouth. It help use a ton.
Good luck
