Those are good suggestions, I have another, slowly start giving your child a sippie cup. Be sure to start in the morning. I had my daughter off the bottle at age 1, she showed interest in big cups, So I bought some sippie cups and within 2 days I had no need for anymore bottles! Hope this helps!

All i did was wean my daughter to off to only one bottle a day. Preferably an hr or so before bedtime. But, in replace to that explain that they are growing older and there are other babies that need their old bottles except for that 1 you will keep for only a few weeks or so. Also you can get sippy cups with the soft rubber top kinda like a bottle so it's not so harsh and cold turkey. And to help with any tantrum they might pull.
Hope this helped you
Good luck

I agree with the previous post. With my first son, he was three before we took away the bottle at bed and naptime. He wouldn't drink milk out of anything for about 6 months after that. I didn't make that mistake with my second son. We introduced the sippy while he was still getting his bottle, and just started switching over to the sippy-cup more and more. Within three days, the bottles were done. I would let them have a drink of water right before bed, then off to sleep.

This is what I did with all of mine (well three, one more to go in May). On the morning of their second birthday, I had them help me put all of their bottles in a box. Then we taped it up and "mailed" it to a baby because they were big kids now. It might seem kinda harsh to cold turkey it but in my experience it was the only thing that worked for us, because if I had the option of going to get them one I would eventually give in. If there were none around I had to deal. The bright side of things is since it is their birthday they are so distracted, excited and bouncing off the walls that they never really missed it throughout the day. The first two or three nights at bedtime were kinda hard but that was it then it was over with. Kids are very quick, they adjust quickly if they know there is no going back. If you haven't already, I would suggest limiting bottles to nap time and bedtime. None in between, that will make the transition even easier. I do still let my toddlers go to bed with a sippy cup of water especially when it is hot outside. Good luck!
