Nevermind...I just looked at your profile. At almost a year old, now is (I think) a good time to establish a routine. Any later and you will have a huge struggle on your hands. I'd start by having a bedtime routine and do it around the same time every night. Remember, the earlier you put her to bed, the earlier she will wake in the morning. That's why we usually lean a little more towards 8pm...he'll stll get up around 8 but to us that's better than 6-7 am lol Extra sleep for us is always a plus....

Just like how it is with so many other things, consistency is the key. We don't have a really "strict" schedule with our son but we do have routines for just about everything. When it's bed time, it's dinner, bath, brush the teeth, bed. Sometimes he cries and we just go back in there, turn on his music machine, give him another kiss and lay him down. Most of the time though, he knows it's time to sleep and he goes down without a fight. We've been doing the "on demand" method since he was born so I think that made it easier on him. From birth, we never wake him at a certain time, he was always fed (breast and bottle) whenever he was hungry. The only things we try to do at around the same time every day is breakfast, lunch, snacks and naps and then bedtime is always somewhere between 7 - 8pm. It really depends on your parenting style, how old your baby is and if your definition of "on time" is the same as the baby's. How old is your baby?
