Jessina you are deffinitly not alone, my husband goes out of town often too. I have 4 kids under 7, it is tough to entertain them but you do what you have to, If she has a fit let her, ignore it I will bring them to there room and tell them when you done you can come out. When he didn't watch tv and you want to have a shower, sometimes I would get up befor them at 7, or put him in his high chair at the bathroom door, or wait until someone comes to visit and have a quick one while they are visiting.
As for her activity, let her run, lots of fresh air, my second has a ton of energy, and is always running and jumping.

Yes, they are. My youngest didn't actually sit and watch a cartoon until 2 and a half, and even then he'll wonder and come back and watch some more.
Getting into everying that is all kids, sorry to tell you, I clean and 5 minutes later the have all the toys out again, just the way it goes, start making it a game to pick up toy, how is the fastest, or sing a song.

My daughter will also be 2 in march and is just like you say, always into everything. I usually try to include her in as many actvities as I can even if it is only washing the floor or dusting the window sills. Hang in there, my 3 yr old still likes to help but is alot more focused and for longer periods of time. :)

Yes, my son used to do the same thing. For some reason he didn't like TV only music so I brought him some kiddie songs instead and that keep him busy.

hahaha
yours is not the only one... my Thomais will only enjoy the musical parts of Barney, Happy Feet, Snow White, Winnie the Pooh and Tigrr movie -- if there is no music/singing, she starts whining, complaining loudly and I have to change it -- so new DVD's are introduced music first, then the other parts... and after 1 week she may watch a full episode of Dora or Barney!!
and she does not sit down either!!!

yes! my little girl is 2 and she's exactly the same! she cant sit still for any length of time! (going out for dinner is a nightmare!) she doesn't seem to sleep much during the day and I have no idea were she gets all her energy from! I feel all I do is tidy and she's right behind me making yet more mess! I'm hoping she calms down when she starts nursery!

I think most of them are! My son could not sit thru the open song when he was 2... now that he is almost 4 he can get about 15 mins of the toddler programing if it is interactive. Have her help you clean. When i clean I have my son help cause if i dont he will make a bigger mess!

She is 2, that is quite normal at 2. All of my children are super active and I can say my 2 year old will not sit still on a couch longer than 10 seconds, wish I was kidding. I understand you want a break but sweetie, wanting them to just sit in front of a tv so you can have some mommy time is not healthy at all. You get the mommy time when someone else comes to help you out or when they're sleeping. Unfortunately, the lives of a mommy. I have a 2, 4, and 5 year old so I really do understand, it's hard!

It is not healthy for children under 3 to watch t.v. For that matter it isn't healthy for a parent to allow any child to sit prolonged in front of a t.v daily. Also your daughter seems to have it right already because music on the other hand is very healthy, music is good for their brain development and dancing is good exercise. My daughter just turned 2 last week I have never sat her in front of a t.v instead I read to her, talk to her sing to her and play with her. We also attend Gymboree once a week and they sing and dance that is what toddlers are supposed to do, and as for making a mess that is perfectly normal it teaches them cause and effect. Let your daughter be a baby, toddlers or any other children aren't supposed to sit still all day like zombies. Kids shoul be allowed to play it's as simple as that. Also on a serious note leave the t.v alone for a few years my friend is a developmental therapist and like most experts she frowns upon early t.v viewing. My daughter just turned 2 last week knows her abc's, counts to 20, knows her name and how old she is and has never watched the idiot box. It is not easy by any means being a parent, I work and attend school but you just have to make time for your kids that's all, clean when she's sleeping. I wish the two of you the best, enjoy these early years, for they are very precious, children grow so fast. When she is a teenager you will wish she was a baby again! Happy parenting

My son is a nut sometimes. Have you tried diego or dora. My son can watch them and sit because there is music and they characters tell the kids to do stuff. So even when he is watching he is participating and there lots of songs. Or the wonder pets, backyardigans, yo gabba gabba. when I am cleaning I put one of those on and he will dance and sing and do the actions they say to do. Mind you this is the ONLY time he is not trying to jump off my table or playing the drumset my lovely husband bought at a garage sale.

my daughter, who is 3, wakes up singing. she goes to sleep singing. or crying. the child is very moody. she loves dancing, and will use every single opportunity she has to sing, dance, put on shows, and basically perform...except when she's playing with her dolls. she has the most wild imagination i think ive ever seen...make sure you provide your daughter with plenty of toys to play with and activities to do while she is watching television. in your case, the toys may end up working as a nice distraction from the television instead of the other way around. plus she is just getting to the age where she will be making EVERYTHING a toy.

I bought my son a broom and also let him help me clean the windows. It keeps him busy and I also get things done. The broom plays songs so he dances when he sweeps(even though not alot gets swept by him).

My kids are like that too, esp my two year old. If i really need to do something and they're all getting into stuff, esp her, one of her favorite things to do is play with playdough or color so i will get some of those out and sit her at the table. if you're worries about the coloring, get some of the colorwonder paper and markers, theyre awesome! lol...hope it helps ♥

YES BUT PROBABALY NOT AS BAD AS HER. SOMETIMES I WISH SHE WOULD AT LEAST WATCH SOMETHING FOR 30 MINS TWICE A DAY ENOUGH TIME FOR ME TO CLEAN AND TAKE A SHOWER. SINCE MY HUSBAND IS AWAY RIGHT NOW IT'S HARD FOR ME TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT HER THROWING A FIT & SCREAMING HER HEAD OFF CUZ IM DOING SOMETHING. I LET HER THROW HER FIT AND IGNORE IT BUT IT SURE DOESNT WORK CUZ SHE CONTINUES TO DO SO

aren't most toddlers like that? I'd be more worried if she just sat like a zombie and watched the tv. :-)
