Is it German Measles or not?!?

My daughter two and a half years old has a fine red,bumpy rash over face, back, stomach, little on arms and legs. One minute it looks like it is clearing up on her face, then i look again and its all over her back. Started yesterday, she had a tempreture for 3 days last week. There has been an outbreak of German Measles in her creche. Have taken her to my GP but he says it cant be that because she has been immunised. She also has no swollen glands, but she does have a runny nose. What else can it be??? My GP does not know, and he does not seem concerned about it. He said it is probably a viral infection that just needs to work out the body...Has anyone had the same problem???

roseola doesn't have a raised rash, it's just a coloring that's there-both my kids have had it. just because she's ben immunized it doesn't mean anything. in some kids the immunizations simply don't take. however if it's not bothering her, don't worry about it. Keep her home until she is symptom free, if she winds up with a sever fever, or seems lethargic or really sick in any other way take her back to the doctor and demand bloodwork to figure out whats going on. It sounds like 5th disease though. http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/... However i wouldn't rule out an allergy especially if you've recently switched laundry detergent or soaps.

It could be a couple of things, an allergy will create a rash and runny nose that comes and goes, it could be many things like your laundry soap or something shes ate or somekind of meds shes taking,( with my daughter it was an antibiotic that contained eggs in it that did this kind of rash to her). It could also be roseola wich happens to kids between 6months to 3yrs and usually the symptoms are high fever for several days and a rash all over the body. my daughters turned out to be an allergy but if shes had fever for several days thats a sign of roseola as well hope this helps.

Have her bumps swabbed for Strep. Strep can appear on the skin even though it is more commonly found in the throat and mouth. Generally they will prescribe an antibacterial cream to get rid of it.
