Connor goes to school today. The first day of so many to come. I so want to take pictures for my scrapbook, family, and photo albums. Is it goofy? Are the other parents going to pitch a fit, or might they have their own cameras in tow?

I have a first day of scholl picture for my kids starting with pre-school and every year through high school graduation. I don't think its goofy I think it's great!!! We take ours at home before they go but have some at the school from the first day of pre-k.
A little tip that is really neat. try to pick a land mark that doesn't change to much to take their picture beside, then as you go back throught the years you can see how much taller they have gotten.

it's not goofy!! and even if it is..who cares. YOU want pictures to remember. it's not hurting anyone so go for it!!

It good to capture the special moments....You bet you will see other parents armed with cameras or even videocam. I remember taking the picture of my son screaming and kicking as the teachers carry him to his class as parent not allowed to be in the class even on the first day...

I wanted to thank everyone for their wonderful replies. Connor's first day was......interesting. I took a ton of pics, must of his back as he ran away to play. Some of the other moms looked at me funny; but I really want a scrapbook page of all his 'firsts'. My biggest surprise..I don't even get a 'bye mom', no kisses or hugs, no crying, no nothing. He took off to play and that was that. His second day - a snow day, no pre-school, go figure. it's not even really snowing. LOL

My daughter is now in first grade. I have pictures of her first day from pre-k until now. I will continue to do so until I get the "mom you're embarrassing me" lol. I am a scrapbooker as well, so I am forever taking pictures.

no way is it goofy!! i would be taking pictures too!! it is an important part of your's and ur child's life and a big step into how they are growing up... u want pictures to put in your scrapbook cuz they are important memories and milestones in ur child's life... go crazy!!! :)

I say if you want pics of your baby doing something that means a lot to you then go for it, dont worry about anyone else and what theyre doing or thinking

i've taken pics of my oldest on every first day of school... 3 year old preshcool 4 year old preschool and now kindy... i think i'ts goofy NOT to take the pics

they will have there camera take pictures Children are not little for long take lots and lots of pictures who care what other parents think
