Well..... I have a child with a very itchy scalp it itches constantly. She keeps on complainig that it ruins her day!

Definitely no lice or anything right? summer is the worst time for them, they can pick them up from other kids, the yard, the dog...... also, ringworm is bad in the summer too. The doctor should take a look at his head with a black light to see if it's ringworm or lice, just to be 100% sure.

if not, i would try using Aveeno products. My son gets eczema and that clears them right up. They have shampoo and lotion, use both :)

you may have to take your child to the doctor they can prescribe something that will stop the itching. could it be some mosquito bites then scratching into scabs? Bactine seems to help my children.

Have you checked for nits? I know no one likes to think of them, but my son is 20mths and he's had them a few times.

Otherwise it could be something you're using around the house. Washing powder for clothes, shampoo, conditioner, soemthing he's eating, could be anything. Ask the doctor.

You could also try NOT washing his hair. Give it a3 or 4 days between washes to let all the natural oils through.

Hi I would consider all the household and personal care product you are currently using could be the contributor to his problems. I would strongly encourage you to stay away from cortizones and dandruff shampoo as our skin is very absorbant that is why patch tecnology works so well. Whatever you do stop using baby lotion and baby shampoo/soap my daughter starting having problems with her head itching constantly once she turned 2 and her dr said stop using baby stuff right away there is alot of stuff in them that can dry out their skin/hair etc. she said to use Lubiderm lotion on areas I could get it and use it for her reg daily lotion and use a dandruff shampoo twice a week no more than that and do not wash her head any more than 2 times a week as that takes out all their natural oils from their hair. It took about a month with using the lotion and dandruff shampoo for it to get better.

My dauhter has eczema nd she gets patches of dry skin everywhere! The thing that works best for her is eucerin cream and hydrocortizone 2%, i don't know if these products are any good for the scalp but it doesn't hurt to check them out.
