My son wants a Lightning Mcqueen from Cars birthday party for his 5th b-day in Oct. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can use a centerpieces for the tables?

I am going to use the same theme at my son's party. His birthday is Oct. 23 and he'll be 3. I was planning on going to Party City and Wal Mart and seeing what I could find. I would like to buy a variety of cars from the movie and use them as centerpieces. Then the children can each have a car to take home as a party favor. My husband suggested cutting a strip of black paper and putting it down the middle of the table to look like a road. Then I can put the cars on the road. I have a Lightning McQueeen coloring book and was going to use some of the pictures as decorations too. The kids can all choose a picture to take down and color.

In Walmart, there are little party favors (miniature cars) that are a $1 a piece. I am not sure if they were seasonal, but take a look in the seasonal/clearance aisles!

You can get Cars birthday party ideas from the disneystore website, just search under character. For an activity you can print disney cars color pages and put them out with crayons, or just print a few for each kids, roll them up and put them in goodie bags, get boxes of crayons now for 15cents and include them. As for a centerpiece what about a piece of foam or styrafoam, round, paint it to look like a tire and put lightening (your childs name), in the middle to look like the logo from the movie. get a square one for the bottom and put them together with a wood dowel. or mylar balloons, or they sell disney cars legos at Toys r us, can put them together and then use as a centerpiece and your son can keep them. good luck

Girls like cars and such too! The cars movie does have female characters (Sally, Flo, Lizzy, etc.) but I wouldn't necessarily worry about the girls not liking the male characters. I have a 7 yr old neighbor girl who was 5 when the movie came out and she LOVED Mater!

Great. Thanks again! I love all the ideas. I can't wait to go to the Toy District to see what deals I find. Do girls also like Lightning Mcqueen or should I plan to include some girly stuff. I will have twice as many girls thank boys. Ay ya yay!

You could have little race tracks on the tables, have black paper around the outside of the table that cars can drive on. they use toilet paper rolls to make their own "cars" to drive around on it would only take tp rolls, black circles for wheels and glue or tape they could paint or color them any color they wanted.

this was the theme for my son's party last year. We do not do big parties as I don't want the hassle and they won't remember it anyway. He had one friend come over to play and they had a ball. I went to Party City and got find and seek books, cars watch (don't recommend), ribbon for birthday boy to wear, reusable cups and cars as parting. gifts, I bought a very large Mater balloon, still flying in his room by the way, and a wonderful lightening McQueen cake that a co-worker made. It was simple and wonderful. Very stress free.

Helium ballons as centerpieces is not horribly expensive! The CARS cars around here are kinda spendy so I couldn't imagine giving them as party favors :( depends on your budget i guess :) My son did cars for his 2nd bday and we had an outside party no centerpieces? I've also seen CARS stuff @ Dollar Tree.
