My 4yrs old daughter has been refusing food after a brief illness and it's making her lose weight. I'm really concerned please. Is there any drug that can help her eat and also help her gain weight.... #worriedmum

You should talk to your doctor first, why would you just want a "drug" to help anyway?
Like Sarah said, as long as she is alert and hydrated you shouldn't worry too much. After an illness it can take them a while to put weight back on.

There is no drug that will make her eat, and even if someone claimed to know of one; would it be safe to medicate a 4 year old? Kids can often have an extended recovery from an illness. Losing 5 pounds on a child that only weighs 30-50 pounds is going to make her look thin. If she is regaining her activity level, is alert and well hydrated, I would not worry too much. She will probably get back to baseline soon. If you are concerned, talk to her doctor. Meanwhile, offer her healthy options often and make sure she is getting enough fluid and rest.
