i need help, my twins wear bug repellent when they go outside but one of them still gets eating alive. he is so allergic to the bites, swelling up and having all these red spots like he has road rash. i need some suggestions on ways to keep them off of him, other then not going outside, we have tried the citronella burners, clothes, and even dryer sheets for the smell, nothing helps just one of my twins.

we have the oil but havent tried the bubble bath, or soap, we will have to get some and try it.

If you are going to use SSS from Avon as I did this with my 2 older children and it worked is to buy the entire line of product. I first used bubble bath, then washed them with soap, then lotion while the skin was slightly damp then sprayed with the oil before heading outdoors. This worked very well for the both of them.

they are two, and we eat very little garlic, it upsets their stomachs, but thanks for the advice

You don't say how old they are but eating plenty of garlic repels mosquitoes, so that may be an option if they are old enough. Try your health shop.

Johnson's do a baby mosquito repellant that works really well for both of my babies, but I don;t know how available it is in the US, I live in the Caribbean and it works really well for the mozzies and doesnt smell too strong.

Oh also avon skin so soft isn't very expensive you can get it from most people who sell avon..

I have heard that bug spray with deet or deat in it can cause mental retardation in children under the age of five. So be careful with that. My son is also very allergic. I use Avon Skin so soft on him and it works great. I hope this helps!! Good luck! ~Angie~

our pediatrician said he could only take zyrtec because he was so young, i am using off family repellent, but i will look for burt's bees. we have woods all around us so they are hard to avoid.

I'm not sure about the allergy part, but I use Bert's Bees all natural bug spray. It's a little more expensive, but it seems to be the most effective out of all the other brands I've tried. We even have woods about 10 ft. outside our little 20' x 30' backyard.
Have you asked your doctor about the allergy part?
