My 18 month old daughter has a rash across her stomach, lots of pink pin prick size spots and a few on her chest. She is her normal active crazy self, no temperature? Any ideas??

It could be roseola or cocksacky which are childhood viruses that cause rashes on various parts of a childs body. I remember both my kids had them and I was really freaked about it until my doctor looked at them and pegged the diagnosis. Your doc will be able to tell you for sure. good luck.

If she spikes a fever---definitely see ur doctor......otherwise a lot of time just a phone call to them will help relieve ur concern..........my son had something similar, it was eczema, my daughter had what looked the same, it was a heat rash........rashes just vary.......but FEVER and RASH--->uber important to get checked

My daughter who would have been 2 at the time had similar on her body. But hers were like little pimples which turned into eczema went to specialist now all gone hopefully dosent return.Look it could be a number of things ,keep an eye on it for the next couple of days and if it still hasnt cleared up the l would get her looked at.

if she starts to get a fever it could be roseola (sixth disease), my daughter was 9 mos. at the time and by the time I figured out what it was it was already cleared up.

If she does'nt seem sick then it's more than likely just a heat rash but i would take her to your doc just to be on the safe side.

Sounds like eczema. Use non sented bath products and vasoline head to toe once to twice a day. Still have it looked at!

My 16 month old daughter has exactly the same thing. I haven't been worrying about it, since she also seems not to be bothered by it and it doesn't seem to be spreading.

perhaps she's related to my daughter?  seriously, my almost-3 gets rashes like that frequently, and it clears up on its own.  it maybe is just a kid thing.

If it's at her pants line it could probably just be a heat rash. If she's pretty active sweat can get trapped and cause a little rash. I wouldn't treat it unless it gets really bad or if the doctor says it's something to worry about.

My 20 month old had something that sounded like that and it turned out to be eczema. A few days of a thick lotion..we used Vanicream... after bath time did the trick :)

Hi there, My son had a similar rash appear just after turning one. Took him to the dr and was told it was a viral infection that will go with time. Sometimes when a child is run down also they tend to come up in a type of viral rash. As she has no other symptoms like a fever etc then i wouldnt worry. If it is there still in a week or so take her to the Dr. Have you done the glass test ? honestly if you are concerned then take her to the dr :-) Good luck.

It sounds like it could be a heat rash.  With rashes though I would call your doctor/nurse line.  I'm happy that she doesn't seem sick though.
