He simply says "Mommy, NO go potty". I just hate it because people are giving me a hard time saying he should be potty trained or my son was potty trained by this time or blah blah blah!! Does this make me look like a bad mother?? HELP ME!!!

I have the exact same problem my daughter is 2 1/2 and she refuses to go on the potty too. I just think they will do it when they want, no adult is not potty trained. No it doesnt make you look like a bad mother it make them look rude for telling you how you should raise your child, i hate people like that i have the same problem.

My son was trained at 2 years and 2 months.  We started before he was 2 and did it when he wanted to.  Then after he  turned 2 we did it more often.  My best advice to you is make it fun!  Tell him what a good boy he is when he does go and offer rewards like treats or stickers.  Also don't use Pull-ups during the day...let him wear underwear.  Once he wets in them a couple times he will quickly learn that it doesn't feel good to be wet and he will want to go on the potty.  It's a little more work for you at first but it will turn around quicker then you think.  When we first started we were using Pull-Ups all the time but since they are just like a diaper it just wasn't working.  I know this may not work for you but it worked great for us and now he is 2 1/2 and doesn't wear anything at night and goes on the potty all by himself!  Good luck and happy Potty training!

Do not worry about what other people say.  Your son is not going to potty train unless he is ready. No you are not a bad mother. Potty training is different for everyone.

My almost three yr old daughter is still not potty trained. I think they know what they are suppose to do, but want to be in control or they don't want to take the time to go potty. My attitude towards it is....it will eventually click, they just have to come to realize it themselves.

aww poor amber. i think i just lucked out with gavin he was easy to train BUT i had a chart to help him. He loved thomas back then too so i made a rail road chart just a small one to start and when he made it to the end he got to go to the store and pick out a thomas toy/book whatever just something thomas. just keep making it longer and longer until he's finally saying I gotta pee. not sure what hunter likes hopefully its nothing $$$ but worth a try! good luck.

My son was nearly three and half before he finally potty trained. They say boys take a longer time to go. I used to worry about that too because it seemed like everyone elses kids were trained but not mine! Finally one day I kept him home from daycare for three days and went hard. When they show an interest than you know it's time. You are NOT a bad mother. All you can do is keep encouraging. My son really liked books about the potty and went in with his dad a few times. Good luck and don't be discouraged! I was just there!
