We've tried every sippy cup there is and he spits it out! He drinks juice and everything else out of sippy cups and even regular cups.... but not milk! I want to get him off the bottle! I think it's harder bc of our 8mo old who drinks her soy formula out of a bottle so he wants one too! Any suggestions?

i took my son off the bottle 9 days ago and he wont drink anything.he hasnt had any liquids for 9 days.what can i do other than force it down his throat

I am currently in the same situation, my oldest is 21/2 and my youngest is 11 months. Jordin (21/2) will drink juice from a normal cup during the day but at night she will only fall asleep with her milk bottle and when we refuse to give her bottle she tries to "snatch" her sisters bottle. Strange enough i breastfed Jordin up until 15 months and when i fell pregnant my milk supply became less and she took to the bottle immediately...i think the bottle is a form of comfort for her now that she has to share mommy and daddy.I have now decided that i will not force her off the bottle until she is ready which will most likely be when Jenna moves off the bottle. I hope i'm doing the right thing...lol

Just a thought but he doesn't have to have milk?!! As long as he's getting his daily requirements from other sources milk isn't the only way?!! My daughter is allergic to cow's milk and refuses to drink soy or any other milk alternatives for that matter! I buy goat's milk to use in smoothies and for cooking but she drinks water with her meals and throughout the day......she gets her calcium, protein, iron and healthy fats from other sources!

I know what you mean, my husband and I are the same way. So, we have ourselves to thank :) Try not to cave, I know it is going to be hard. Especially if he pitch a fit like my daughter can! lol.

Thanks Denise! I'll give it a try! He's SUPER stubborn/ strong willed! He gets a double dose! My huby and I are both very stubborn! lol Hope it works!!!!!

Hi Jordan
When I switched my daughter, at first she also refused the sippy cup. So, I refused to give her milk in anything but the sippy cup. I took about a day and a half of no milk when she finally caved and started drinking from the cup. I don’t know how stubborn your son is, but my daughter is very stubborn and I think she gave in pretty quickly. Good luck.
