My 20-month old chews on EVERYTHING!! We recently bought some new furniture and she has ruined it within a few weeks by chewing. We obviously watch her closely, but she does it so quickly. She chews on the wood in her crib, furniture, and anything she can get in her mouth. When we see her chewing something she shouldn't we take it or tell her not to chew and she screams. Any ideas how to STOP this behavior?

Toddlers get another set of molars (total of 4 teeth) that come in behind the 1st set of molars around 24 months. That could be what is going on. My daughter chewed on her wood crib too. You can give her a cold wash cloth. Wet the wash cloth and put in the fridge so it will be really cold. That seems to help. Hope this help some and let me know how it works.

Is she teething? They have things to put on cribs for teething. Somewhat like chew toys. Or you can buy her a chew toy that she can chew on......
