He will eat chicken nuggets and hot dogs but nothing with any real nutritional value like grilled meats. I ahve tried every thing I can think of, Like hiding it in mashed potatoes and stuff like that he refuses. Its so anoying bc i know he needs the protien. Does any one have any suggestions or even food ideas with lots of protien? God bless

I believe I saw this on the doctors and it worked for my child I put all the food on the table and everyone dishes there own food except your child and start eating they will wonder whats going on and then you ask them if they would like to pick what they would like. If you only have health options on the table then they won't make a bad choice. I swear by fruit smoothies for my kids they love them. Yogurt (protein), frozen or fresh fruit and so ground flax seed (feed their brain).
Blessings

My son is picky about meats also. I still try without fail to offer real meat to him in the form of stir frys (with very very thinly sliced meat), pasta with minced or ground up meat etc but fortunately my son LOVES and i mean LOVES eggs .. any way he can have them scrambled, soft boiled, hard, etc.... so I give him an egg every two or three days and I feel confident that he is getting the right amount of protein for the week!! He would have them everyday if he could.... Eggs are very high in protein if he can have eggs then go for that instead. I reckon there are heaps of mums and bubs around who survive on meat free diets so like amanda said try getting the protein from other sources... and dont feel guilty that hes not having "real"meat... good luck :)

I have had this problem with my little boy(hes 18 months). And we found out that he has allergies to milk and soy....and that means he can cave very little processed foods. But the doctor said that as long as he is eating lots of fruits and veggies that he is fine and that there is plenty of protein in other stuff...I'm not real big on meat myself and I have found that there is protein in things like the v8 smoothie drinks and that kinda thing. And peanut butter is loaded with it if you feel comfortable enough to give it to him and he can have it. But just for the record my little boy can have Gordon fish sticks and Tyson chicken nuggets and pretty much every brand of hot dog known to man although we usually get Oscar Mayer, because they have no soy fillers and are made with "real meat" so maybe try that if you are worried. It makes me feel a little better knowing that its real food that hes eating and not a lot of fillers and stuff.
