my 3 year old always has constipation

apple juice actually acts as a diuretic, so it would actually make the constipation worse. My daughter is going through something similar right now. Her doctors tell us no to all dairy products, apple juice and bananas.

Try one teaspoon of fish oil per day. My son has never had constipation since I started this and he used to get it all the time.

My baby has the same problem, she now takes 2 bottles of Gerber prune puree everyday one at lunch and another at dinner. You can also try Heinz prune apple juice and see which works for you :) If the above doesn't work you can try Lactulose (get from the Pharmacy). If it still doesn't work then try Glycerin Suppository (get from the Pharmacy)

Make sure your child takes enough fluids and veggies ") Hope this helps.

I went thru this with my oldest daughter who is 19 now. We finally had to limit her banana intake so if your three year old is eating a few to many bananas maybe try only 1 a day. Also try eating peaches, apricotts (canned) something in the juice helps with that. She was constipated all the time and the prunes sometimes didnt work so we tried the canned peaches and apricotts and it worked liked majic. We were told by a nurse who really helped. Hope this helps.

our 4 year old had the same thing to the point we even saw a gastro doc because her belly hurt so bad. He also put her on a supplement which didn't work. I started taking her to a chiropractor last week and she has had no problem since. The vertabrae that controlls that function was out. The doc put it back in and shes the best shes been in 4 years

If he is holding his poo, that's why it is hurting him. The longer it stays in there, the more the moisture is being sucked out of his bowel movement. Try giving him prune juice mixed with his favorite juice. Have him eats lots of fruits, that will help him to have softer poos also. I hope this helps ya! Good Luck!!! :)

My daughter that just turned 4 has had problems since she was a baby....and when she does go it is big and hard,,,,it hurts her butt...so the doctor put her on a medicine to make her go to the bathroom....but it dosent soften it...so from time to time

I will giver her a liquid stool softner that you can buy over the counter,,,but discuss with the doctor and see what they say also.

My little lad went through this, we ahd to look at what he was eating during the day and change his diet accordingly. Is your little one getting enough fibre, bran, wheat, in his diet? If not try to add this and if that doesnt work try syrup of figs. If all else fails go to seek medical advice.

My son did this to.I started giving him prune juice and apple juice mixed together .I give him about 6 ounces and I believe it works great
