My three year is having problems pooping. We are still struggling with potty training in general but my main concern is pooping. She tells me she has to poop but she will sit on the potty for over a half an hour trying with no success. she also will run behind her play table and try to poop in her pull ups with no success. you can see her straining to try. we went to the doc and he said she was constipated, we gave her Milk of magnesia and that flushed her system but then immediately after had problems again. My other problem is she eats very little. she will eat a bite or too them say she if full. She likes fruits and veggie but never eats enough to get the recommended servings. Help!! I feel so bad for her and feel like I'm failing as a parent because I cant help her.

She eats yogurt all the time. I was actually worried that she may eat too much yogurt. she drinks apple and grape juice but she will only sip at it. It's good to know that constipation is normal when starting potty training. any suggestions on how to make the training go any better? How do i make her not afraid of the potty?

Have you tried giving her Prune juice, or natural fruit juice, and also yoghurt is suppose to help the system regulate cause its a natural bacteria...but also when they first start with potty training its normal for them to be constipated because they nervous or shy...
