If he just cries when you drop him off and then is happy for the rest of the time, it's okay, that's normal. It just means he loves you and wishes you would stay, not that he hates daycare.

How old is your child? it would be useful if you added some info/details to your question. If your child is aroun 9 months to 1.5 he may be going through saparation anxiety which is a normal phase.
