my son is going on 3 years old in september and even tho he has a twin bed and enough room to move around in bed he still somehow wants to wake up ever night or every other night around 3 or 4 and climb in bed with his father and i. how do i get him to stay in his bed all night long?

I agree with Louise - my son did this a few times when we changed him from crib to bed...and promptly marched him back to his own bed each time.

You just have to keep saying no and putting him straight back to his bed. I know this is tiring but if you do it every time he will soon learn that him getting up is just going to get him put back to bed. He will stop eventually. If you let him stay, just the once, he will continue to do this every night.

Duct tape and super glue? I have no idea short of when he comes in just get up and walk him back to his room without saying anything. But then again I am not motivated to walk my kids back to their rooms. They have pillows and blankets that they stash under the bed so the mornings I need more sleep...aka the days they wake up at the ass crack of dawn they can lay on the floor and watch cartoons and we do not get kicked out of bed. On the rare occasion they come in here at night they wake one of us so we know they are there and get their blankets and cuddle with the dog. (which is actually really cute). Mine are 2 years and 5 years.
