This is my third child and my other two never did this and it is a bit worrying she up till now has been a very clear speaker with a wide vocabulary. This last few days she has started stuttering she will repeat the first word of a sentence over and over again before finishing the sentence. Is this a stage she is going through or should i contact her pedi and ask about it?

It might just be a stage she is going through. I just read in an article that many 2-3 years olds will repeat words over and over for a while when they start talking in sentances. However, if you are worried about it, maybe give that doctors office a call and ask one of the nurses. They are normally pretty helpful, and then they can also tell you if they think you should bring her in. I personally think that they get stuck on one word while trying to think of what they want to say.

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

I am a speech pathologist. Many children go through a phase where they "stutter" or repeat words and sounds. If it continues past age 3 1/2 or seems to get worse you may want to talk to your doctor and request a referral to a speech pathologist. There are strategies that you can learn to help a child who "stutters".

reading up on stuttering i am hoping it is just a stage but you know what a lot of famous actors including James earl Jones stuttered i think we can deal with this.
