I'm a stay at home mom with two kids. 3 almost 4 year old boy and a 15 month old girl. My days are starting to run together a lot lately. I need some good ideas on new things to do with the kids to keep me sane!

You can also get out precooked noodles to explore. Spaghetti noodles are great for making shapes and letters for your 4 year old, and your daughter can play along while building her fine motor skills. You could have a scavenger hunt for shapes around the house. (cut out some examples--stick them in a bag--draw one out--talk about the features--search them out)

Thank you very much for that post thats what I really need is things I don't have to go out and buy! I did make little molds out of this type of dough we made up it was fun and after they got hard we painted them. I just have a hard time getting motivated to do these things.

To expand on the previous person's post, you can make almost all those things yourself - finger paints, bubbles, play dough, and the finger paints and dough are edible! Totally non-toxic made out of the things in your kitchen. For finger paints, just mix a bit of flour with some water and food coloring until you get a thicker consistency. Yes this tastes bad but it is not toxic. For the play dough, I know there are recipes online, and we have a book called "Unplugged play" that has a recipe in it as well. I'd recommend that book if you can find it too. For the bubbles, just mix dish soap, not dish washer soap, with water until you get a mix that makes good lasting bubbles. Have fun!

there are all kinds of crafts to do. Finger painting is also fun. Go for a walk and see what kinds of things you can find, birds, new plants growing, animals, etc. Go outside and blow bubbles, make a tent and read stories and have snack in it, maybe even naps. Bake cookies or play with play dough.
