My 8 yr old son plays football on sat. and practices 2 times during the week. This interferes with his homework, not to mention having to go to the occasional game. I DONT LIKE SPORTS.
Now my husband wants to sign my 4 yr old girl up for soccer. I said I will sign her up and take her to dance classes but no sports. Is this unreasonable?
Just wondering:)

I don't think it's unreasonable unless your daughter really wants to play sports like her brother. From my point of view, 4yo is a little too young to play contact sports anyway. To me, the most important thing is to explore their interests more than pushing sports. I did grow up on a farm so I spent more time riding horses and playing with other animals instead of going into town to play sports. The only thing I could have wished for was dance classes when I was about 8-9 as I went through a stage of liking the looks of ballerina figurines. I would suggest telling your husband that instead of just doing the sport thing that your kids need 1-2 outside activities that will not affect their grades and gives them a chance to explore their talents.
