Just wondering when people started using pillow for their toddlers? Our son is 2 years eight months and sleeps without a pillow...

When I found my daughter stuffing her teddy bear under her head at night at 15 months I asked her doctor when would be ok. She said she could have one anytime now that she can get around well. I have a travel pillow I got at Bed Bath and Beyond and she loves it. She's 17 months now. Most of the time I find her with her head slumped off of it, but she does like to sleep on it, she's just a wiggle worm when she sleeps.

I called my pediatrician and asked if he could have a small pillow that wasn't for decoration in his crib just before he hit 2. She said that as long as it wasn't too soft or large that it should be fine. Babies R Us carries a great "toddler" pillow, and he still sleeps with it in his toddler bed.

I'd give him the option since he's old enough he can decide, and if he decides he wants one for you to still be comfortable find ones you still feel safe with him having then let him pick his favorite one. My son is almost 19 months and has a very flat frog pillow that he loves. If it wasn't as flat as it is though, forget it. But just make sure you're comfortable with what he's picking out if he wants one.

I got a travel pillow for my Boys 1st pillow and it worked really well for them. I got the pillow at Bed Bath and Beyond.

my son is 21.5months and has a pillow, when we moved him from the cot to a big bed we gave him the option of having apillow or not and he took the option of having it. our son has a tink pillow thats all fluffy so its less of a risk.
