We are planning a trip to San Francisco and I am having trouble trying to find a reasonably priced, family friendly place to stay. We are traveling with a 20 month old who is used to sleeping in her own space, anyone have a recommendations?

Call and see if the place has pack n plays for you to use, then bring your own sheet to cover it with (regular crib sheets work). A lot of places have them now. Anything in the Marriot line is really nice and they have a whole range of prices for the different hotels.

If you can take a play pen or request a cot for your baby to sleep on so your child is able to maintain it's own space that may help. Bring a blanket that is familiar to them as it will help them sleep. We've taken our 3yr old on long road trips and such and having plenty of different things to do is nice! Little computers or other noise making toys that will likely annoy you will do a lot to keep the kidlet in good humor, I know the toys may get annoying, but screaming children cuts right to the core!

Just make sure to bring a few of her favorite toys that she can cuddle with at night. I have to take my boys travelling quite a bit, one just turned 2 and the other will be 1 in a couple weeks. If you go to bed at the same time as them it really helps because the lights are out and there isn't too much noise. It sucks to go to bed so early but it makes it easier the first few nights until the kiddo gets used to sleeping somewhere new. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is, though. I thought it would be terribly hard to get my boys to travel with me and was shocked to find out that it just wasn't that bad. Try and maintain your bedtime routine as best as you can and you little one will respond better than you think. Good luck and have fun on your trip!!
