I am currently trying to potty train my son who turned two in June. The only thing that gets his attention is peeing on tires or in the bathtub (which I will not let him do) I realize he cant use tires everywhere we go but I also know all kids train differently. Has anyone tried this before?? How did it work out?? I thought about putting oreos in the toilet to kinds resemble tires but idk....

Thanks, he does go to the bathroom with me and normally his dad sits to pee so he can see that too. He will sit on the potty fine, he will just never use the bathroom. He doesn't mess up a diaper all night, so I know he is ready and has bladder control. I tried the cereal thing and he still wouldn't do it, I even got a cup with water in it and poured it on the cereal slowly to make them move. Outside is all he will do, I have gotten him to start using a training potty some but he doesn't like that either. Thanks again!!! Good luck with the aiming!

My son is 2 1/2 and is still sitting to pee, I just don't trust his aim yet. Maybe you could leave the door open when you go so he sees mommy going that way to. I love the target practice ideas everybody has though, I am definitely going to try that when I think my son is ready to try standing :). Either way, I wouldn't worry too much if I were you, 2 is the earliest age recommended for potty training, so there's no rush, some kids just need more time :) Good luck!

Thanks, I will try cereal tomorrow!! I tried letting him sit on it but he will never use the toilet no matter how long he sits there, I had him on the toilet for 10 or 15 minutes when he woke up this morning and he never did anything but as soon as I let him outside he went. Thanks again, I will try these!

My mom trained her son to sit to go potty first, then when he was 2 she put 3 cheerios in the toilet bowl and told him to aim and hit them all and made a game out of it.

I used fruitloops when I trained my son and he use to aim and shoot he loved it.
