My son is two years old.I have been trying to potty train him for about six months. But when i send him to his dads house he does not want to put forth the effort to help my son. I gave him a potty chair and i've even given him underwear for my son to wear at his house. I don't know what to do because every time i get my son willing to use the potty...he's goes to his dad's and it's all ruined(he gets him every Thursday and every other weekend..but never overnight) WHAT CAN I DO???

when I potty train, I wait til I have at least 5 consecutive days at home all day with my child. I get them doing the potty thing for either function or both. I make sure they are asking to go potty, I'm not just putting them on every hour. This all has to be in place, IMO, before letting them go to someone else's care or you may lose the training.

After you get your son doing this, you can have a chat and even send a reminder note that your child has to be taken to the bathroom at your predetermined times (like if you know he goes every 2-3 hours, you can say: before bed, upon waking, 10-11am, noon-1:30, 3-4, etc). dress him only in underpants (except bedtime), and make sure daddy knows not to put diapers on him. Sounds like your challenge is getting things as easy as possible for Dad and beating Dad into submission to do things your way ;) Good luck!
