should I be giving my daughter multi vitamins to boost her immune system for daycare?

How old is she? We started toddler vitamins at one year and it works great for our son. Now I don't think it's going to really help with her immune system though. She should be building up antibodies from being around others and colds, not just repeatedly catching them. Maybe a wellness visit with the ped to find out why her immune system is so weak and ways to strengthen it?

Great :)- Our lil one has only been sick once in the last 18 months and I am preggo let me tell you I will do what ever it takes Good diet, Multi Vitamins....ect. Good luck:)-

Cheers, I've started Millie on a liqiud form of multi vitamins. Everyone Ive spoken to about it, say that in the first 12 months of kids being in daycare they'll all get sick.
So we're just going with the flow.

I would ask your pedi first! My son has been on poly-floride which is a liquid vitamin with floride since he was 2. We recently switched him to a chewable childrens multivit and a chewable floride tablet(need a rx) because he would no longer take the poly-floride drops.

So to answer your question, always check with your pedi first!!!

I don't agree with giving kids vitamins generally. I think it's better to stay healthy by having a good diet and exercise etc. If your child is in daycare, they will definately catch more colds etc. I don't think it makes much difference in catching things if you take vitamins or not though the recovery can be a bit quicker.

Try a multi-vitamin called Tri -V-Sol. It's an over the counter multi-vitamin (usually by the infant Tylenol at CVS) for babies and young children. My daughters pediatrician recommended it when she was a new born because I was nursing. She's 15 mo. now and still takes it. She goes to public day care and has only really been sick once. You can also give your daughter orange juice for the vitamin C, should help her immune system as well.

You can give any child vitamins from like 6 months and up. They have liquid infant vitamins by Gerber and then you can go to a regular children's vitamin when she's old enough to chew gummies. My daughter started day care at 4 months and I was picking her up a lot the first few months, but she built up an immunity pretty fast.

I would. I give them to my lil gal and we are not in daycare... She has been on them since she was 6months old.I get the Liquid infant vitamins the off brand from Target. It has helped a bunch, our Dr put us on them and I mix it in with her Breast milk/cows milk in her sippy cup at night.

follow on formula will act as a good vitamin supplement up to the age of 2. i currently give my 2 y.o. a multi everyday. we use vita minis which you can buy at supermarkets or priceline and pharmacies. pricilne is generally cheapest, with a pack of 100 for around $10-15.

find out a good dr.to c whats wrong w ur baby first,giving vitamin it might enhanced her eating habbit more than you would like,it happend 2 so many kids i knw,so i think u should find out y is she getting sick so much,its not normal that thy do this offten w out a reason,good luck

I think its a brilliant idea all kids and babies should be on vitamins,if u go to a health shop they will give u advise on what she needs.my son when he was under 12months i had to start giving him vitamins,he was always sick.i gave him more fruit and veg.all that together he is hardly ever sick now.health shops r better its more natural organic products.ask a quailified assisant there ,hope it all goes wellxx

I don't know if they make them for babies that young. I'd ask her dr. for a recommendation ... or go browse the vitimans at the store and read through them all. I think most start at age 2 though.
