My youngest child is my 20 month old daughter and she doesnt try to repeat words or sounds, she can say mum, ta and da but thats about it!! Im not sure if i should be worried about this or if im comparing her to her older brother and sister and other kids her age.....

I counted the other day and my 18 month old's vocabulary consists of about 75 words. Probably a bit more now because she is repeating new words everyday. I have been told that on average a 2 year old's vocabulary should consist of about 100 words. All kids are different but talking to your pedi might be a good idea... Good luck, Mommy

My daughter is 20 months old, she repeats alot but just started. Try teaching her things she likes, like for instance my daughter Loves Dora and Spongebob and Minnie Mouse. She doesnt say those word for word but she calls Dora...Dora Dora and Bob Bob and Mi-mow is all she got from minnie mouse. lol.. She started doin better when she started using a sippy w a straw I strongly beleive those strenghthen the muscles, but honestly I would say your daughther will come around in her own time. But try that sippy w the straw!! :) Hope that may help!

My daughter is 18 months old and can say at least 20-30 words. She repeats everything. But then again she started repeating when she was about 8-9 months old.

my son is also two and is completely opposite and speaks a whole lot. I would take her to the doctor and have her checked out. although you should remember that children speak when they are ready. good luck

My son is almost 22 months old and just started this weekend saying words besides Daddy and Mama, you can always ask your pedi. if you are worried.

My son didnt start talkin til a couple months ago and he is 2 n a half. But I dont talk about nor does he dad, so we all have just a real laid back personality.
