My son drinks his milk in the morning and at night from a bottle. He wont drink milk from a sippie cup, but drinks everything else from a sippie cup. How can i get him to drink from the cup instead of his bottle? Any suggestions...

With my son we took away the morning bottle first, fed him breakfast instead (there are plenty options that can include milk so to still get it in there). Then we just took the night time bottle away. We probably waited 2 wks in between changes? I've also read that you can slowly dilute the bottle *say u only give 1 @ bed time* once its mostly water your child will lose interest. If your child goes on a milk strike after losing the bottle I wouldn't really be too concerned with it. You can give your child plenty of calcium by feeding him different foods, cantelope is a good source! Look online & see what foods have calcium & make sure your child gets those, fruits & veggies have a better source then the milk we feed our children anyways!

What I did was simply "wein? mine per say like one week I would do no milk in bottle in the morning and then after that got a little easier i would then take it away at night. then its not such a shock an then after that my kids did fine an never wanted a bottle back.

What I've done with both my children is to simply not give the choice. I know it seems cruel and believe me I did my share of crying (while my child was crying as well) but it helps in the long run and when your child understands that they can either drink their milk out of a sippy or not get any at all it will be an easy choice :) Not sure how old your child is but I did this at the one year mark as our pediatrician advised and it made our lives much easier after those tough couple of days
