Stop that finger sucking!

My 4 year old sucks her fingers. We have tried band-aids, she pulls them off, we tried the bitter nail polish, she got past it. What else can I do?

I did the same as my daughter 1st 2 fingers, but my husband did his thumb, and he still does it when he is in deep sleep. I don't want that. I stopped on my own around 4.

I can guarantee that this post will not help your situation, BUT I used to suck my fingers as well. Middle and forefinger, upside down. Yep, it was weird. And I quit on my own. Once kindergarten started it made me feel like a baby to do it so I would only do it when I was alone. I would be embarrased if I was caught. I did it less and less until I just didn't do it anymore. I'm 26 now and can't remember the last time I sucked on my fingers. The thought of it actually disgusts me now. LOL!!
