My daughter is 2 1/2 and she has a little sister that will turn 1 in a couple days. She goes to the potty GREAT when we are at home and with nothing on her bottom- no pull ups, no panties, no bottoms at all. I ask her if she needs to go potty and we sit on the potty first no matter if she says yes or no, we try and then we put something on and the moment I put a pull up on her she goes to the bathroom in it. She doesn't even give me the chance to ask if she needs to go to the bathroom... it's instantaneous. Doesn't matter if it's poo-poo or pee-pee (cleaning poop out of cotton panties is so fun too). She was doing well for a week or two so we moved to the cotton training panties that are lined and padded. All of a sudden she started using the bathroom in those as well. Nothing has changed, by husband and I spend a lot of time with our kids. I have tried to explain to her it's time to be a big girl, mommy doesn't go potty in pull ups or diapers or her panties and I show her that her "big girl panties" feel just like mommy's. Nothing is working... I thought maybe it is just too soon for her but like I said, with nothing on she does great! I don't know what to do. I am loosing hope and getting frustrated! Please HELP!!!!

I guess just do not force it, let them know that a reward is there for them when they decide to go, I personally use jelly beans for my son who is 27 months. He will even sometimes try to psyche me out and pretend to use the potty in order to get his treat. But i'm firm with him and he's doing very well! Just have patience, she'll use it when she's ready. But always let her know the offers out there and that there is a reward (one that she wants)!

My 2 1/2 year old is doing the same thing. We tried bribing him with stickers, etc. and he went on the potty great for a few weeks, and now he has NO interest whatsoever. Unless we're out in public, of course, and then he always wants to go on some gross toilet. :P I have noticed his behavior is a lot better now that we stopped pushing so hard for him to use the potty. I'm going with the "he's just not ready yet" and we'll wait another month or two to try again. We were just hoping to have him trained before #2 arrives in a few weeks. Oh well! Sorry this is no help, but at least you're not alone with the frustration.

I am jumping on the band wagon. I have the same problem My daughter will be 3 next month. The doctor tells me she will go when she is ready. Should I just wait? I tried the no pamper thing too. She actually came to the potty and pooped. She has pee peed a couple times but lately nothing. She is put on a couple times a day but nothing. She also holds her pee a really long time. Is she avoiding the potty?

As I've been talking to friends I've been hearing that with potty training they seem to do well then revert back to diapers. I hear this is normal and just ride it out.

My son is 2 years 3 months and completely refuses to sit on a potty or toilet (with training seat). Obviously not ready yet. No interest what-so-ever.
