I am having a terrible time with my 2 year old daughter. She keeps acting out whenever I ask her to do something or correct her. She is only terrible with me, with everyone else she seems fine. I don't know what I may be doing wrong. I have actually tried most things: time outs, ignoring the bad behavior, and redirecting. Someone please help she is very trying and I am afraid I have turned into a mother that yells all the time, I don't want that!!!!:(

I have a 2 1/2 year old son who keeps me on my toes as well. He acts out most with me, but they do that because they have such trust in you. I have had times when picking him up from his grandparents that he throws a fit about the first thing I say to him, and they claim he has been a perfect angel all day. The thing that makes the biggest difference with him is being consistent. If I say time out if he doesn't stop, he goes to time out, etc. I do have to pick and choose my method based on his behavior/mood, and I still end up yelling sometimes, but time outs have worked best for us.
