I'm looking for ideas of things to do. Sometimes we are at home really bored and I was wondering if anyone will share some fun things to do. Winter has been so long and it's hard being inside all of the time.

It's hard when you can't go outside. We go to storytime at the local library. I also let my son play at the McDonalds' play area. Our mall also has a play area. Pottery Barn for Kids has free children's concerts every once and a while and Barnes and Noble bookstores also have storytime. When we are at home we read books, play with puzzles, color, fingerpaint, sing songs and dance. He loves it when I get on the floor and play with him (instead of always expecting him to play by himself).

My daughter loves to paint so i make sure the home is lovely and warm then shut the door of my kitchen (where there are no carpets) put paint in different plates then cover the floor in paper. She strips naked and walks in the plates of paint and then all around the kitchen on the paper i have prints of hands toes feet bottoms everything you can possibly get into a plate lol.

It leaves a mess but takes up loads of time and its great fun to see what you have left after, then a nice hot bath before bed.

Are there indoor places to play outside of the home? Where I live there are coffee houses with indoor playgrounds for children. Our mall has a toddler play area. Libraries can be good. Romp n Roll, My Gym (other places that hold "gym" classes for little ones) often have open times for anyone to go. We rearrange our couch cushions, etc to make forts or for places to climb. Play in the bathtub, paint, homemade playdoh, finger painting (with paint, pudding, shaving cream, etc) if the child is old enough. Baking healthy snacks (also if child is old enough to help stir etc.).

My daughter is 3 and my son is 2 and it can get a little boring at home.  I'm not a fan of TV so I find doing arts and crafts or baking is good fun.  You can buy arts and crafts kids book which are full of great ideas.  This week I think we're going to tackle making spiders using egg containers and pipe cleaners.  Should be fun!!
