Toddler Movies

So our son is 2 and a half. We have all the basic children movies. But my son is pretty much afraid of a majority of them. Not in a way where he won't watch them, but he just runs into the hallway until the scary part is over. For example, in Finding Nemo he is scared of the shark and the scuba diver. In Toy Story he WAS afraid of the Dinosaur. In Ice Age 3, we took him to the theater (for the first time) and he was so scared he never left my lap, because of the dinosaurs. He will not even watch one scene of Monsters Inc. Also Veggie Tales are pretty scary to him, for some reason. lol

So pretty much I just want some good, nice, friendly, non scary, educational toddler movie ideas.
Or at least some ideas on what movies other toddlers are watching without being scared. I don't know how common it is for a toddler to be this scared of so many movies either, lol. But he is scared of a lot of things, maybe that has something to do with it?

So as you can guess, Halloween isn't a very fun holiday for us. lol. But anyways just want to know what some other toddler mom's think about our movie situation. Thanks!

Curious George, Bob the Builder, Clifford, Wiggles...all are found on DVD, try renting them from the movie store so you're not stuck with them if your child doesn't like them. Also, Target sells a lot of these movies for around $5 (sometimes they are on sale for even less...) Also, on tv, there is a cartoon channel called qubo, it's part of the ion channels. We do not have satelite tv, only network tv and we get it on the digital channel. It is also available on cable and satelite, but you might have to call your provider to get it, not sure. Qubo is very little kid friendly all day long!!

There was a movie that I watched when I was little.. and you can get it online for like $10.. Its called Wee Sing In Sillyville.. Its a little weird cuz its kids and adults dressed in weird clothes but I loved it.. and my kids love it too. There is alot of singing and kids love singing.

This is a link for a little preview of parts of it on youtube. :)

Our son loves little einsteins, wordworld and the wiggles but I was watching monsters inc the other night (without him) and decided I would not let him watch it - he's 3 - because it is too scary and I don't think he would get all the conversations.

Concentrate on younger programmes and don't worry about the movies for a while.

I learned by watching my neighbors when they were little that they are not ready for the movies until at least 4 or 5 years old. Too much bouncing around. lol. I suggest just getting the DVDs that go along with his favorite tv shows. I think most Disney and Pixar movies are for a little older audience. Try Sesame Street, Elmo, Dora, Diego, Little Einsteins, Blues Clues, Barney, things like that. Hope that helps.

My daughter really loved the wiggles, it is very educational and and they sing a lot. It has movies and shows that come on the disney channel. Or try some care bear movies. Hope this helps.
