My son is always on the go even when he is sick. The daycare just phoned he is very lethargic, has had several hard bowel movements and feels slightly warm. Should I take him to the doctor? I am a little worried about my suddenly lethargic toddler.

Just like we do they will have they're ups and down days too!! If he is having bowel movements this is a good sign. It means he is getting enough fiber and he is not constipated. Do not be worried unless it is hurting to go to "poop". A fever is usally a good sign that the body is fighting some sort of ailment on its own. Just keep him hydrated and give him lotsa love and he will be all good!! You should probably only worry if he has the fever for more than three days and if it goes above 39 degrees celcius.

thanks... sometimes I feel like I worry too much. Like I said he is always on the go it is hard to get him to sit down for more than a minute all day long. Today he won't even go outside to play with the other boys and is just sitting around watching everybody play...very unlike him

i would definitely call the doc , as a nurse and a mom. my 3 year old was like that and ended up he had a pneumonia. treat the fever if he has one and get him checked out.

It might be a good idea to call the doctor about your lethargic toddler and see if they want to see him. I also have a son that is constantly on the go, and this would worry me also.
