I have b/g twins who are turning 3 in Oct. My girl likes to see herself in the mirror and make all kinds of crazy funny faces. I'm wondering if your toddler girls do this too. My boy hardly notices mirrors. Is it normal girl thing? They are full term and healthy otherwise.

My son just turned 4 and he loves making funny faces in the mirror..he does silly statue poses as he calls them. Also if I tell him he looks so handsome he has to look in the mirror to see himself. Its totally normal, their kids its what they do

My daughter will a be 3 in October too and she loves the mirror too. But my son is only 6 months and he loves the mirror too.
I don't think its necessarily a girl thing but more of an individual personality thing :)

My daughter is almost 2 and she loves looking at herself in anything with a reflection! LOL....mirror, oven door, side of the car, windows, etc.

My 15 month old daughter does this all the time. She'll even put her face up against the mirror and start giggling.

My 2-year-old son loves to do this, too, turning his head to look upside-down, putting on a hat and checking himself out again, putting some diaper cream on his face and looking again, poking his tongue out, kissing his reflection, etc. Probably your kids are just different in that way.

Ok I am not sure that referring to faces made by your child "retarded" is a fantastic choice of words. Both my son and my daughter liked to play in the mirror. My son is 5 and right now he plays in the mirror to make his sister laugh.
