My husband and i will be traveling on a cruise with the kids. The first half of our journey will begin in the airport, and then the ship. So, should we invest in a twin stroller? and if so, which one should we purchase for our journey. thanks for your help. i'm looking forward to your comments.

AAs a seasoned traveler of a toddler of a now 4 yr old, ai t also depends on how much luggage you have...my husband and I stopped using a stroller at about 3. We did find a car seat travel bag, because of travel in cars after the plane. We would always check this (no extra cost) and put odds and ends such as wipes and such to lighten the other bags. A stroller can come in handy at The airport especially on long layovers or busy airports like Atlanta. I wasn't so worried about my son, but other people and germs too...
I would not take a stroller on the cruise though. You will have to findi a way to entertain the kids during embarking process. The employees are usually aware of the parties with kids and will hopefully speed the checkin process

I know when my hubby and I took our girls (then 1 and 3) we did not bring a stroller and we deeply regretted it. There are so many people at the airport plus the carry-ons that you are going to be lugging around with all the kiddy essentials that being in an airport will make you want to rip your partner's face off (at least thats how I felt). Not to mention one of our beloved flights delayed on a lay-over so you can only imagine how that trip went.
It is true, however, that strollers are bulky and may be hard to manuever in large crowds but no where near as hard as trying to keep up with small children and a hubby that looks like he will jump on the next flight just to get away from you guys.

I would be wary of a double stroller in the airport, too. How would you manage with all the people around? Get your older one to sit on the luggage cart if he gets tired, or get one of those Ergo carriers for lugging the baby around on your back.
I've never been on a cruise, but I would imagine that they would have some strollers or something for your use on the ship, don't you think? Not sure, but it might be worth checking into.

You have a 1 and a 4 year old right? If you don't think it is important for your older child to be confined to a stroller I would suggest a stroller where the older one could stand on the back while the other sits. The issues I have with a twin stroller are side by side, you have issues with isles, and the seat seat stroller is soo long, frustrating to drive around.
