.Unsure a daycare

My 19month old just started a new sitter He wont let me out of his site when we get home and screams like he is scared when I lay him down at night. He always LOVES going to sleep at night. The sitter says everything was good when I ask her everyday, but his eyes are always red like he has been crying. Im having a terrible feeling but dont know if its just me? anyone have any suggestions on if this sounds weird?

my question is was this just a huge sudden change or a was it gradual? i went back to work 26 days b4 my little ones first birthday and when i did it was only 2 days a week i had my mum watch him on the wed and my inlwas took him on thurs for a year and now hes still going with the old arangement but at day care on monday n tuesdays...
the reason i asked is that my mum was calling in on us almost every weekday bar maybe one or two so he was very use to her being there and we visited my inlaws every weekend and spent hours with them,,,, with my mum she stays at my place and my inlaws have him at theirs as thats where he is most comfortable with them, i started by every wed mum would come and i would run up the shops for 5 or ten mins until it got to be hr or so trips so he was use to her being there and me not, but it worked i went back to work easily with no real transition issues and same with day care they let me have a couple of half days n then full time.
also when you say ur mum treats the kids differently do you mean she is harder on some while spoiling the others?
hope you get it sorted and he is ok. its always hard leaving them even if its with your mum ox

Trust your gut, as his mom you will know if something isn't right.

Go with your gut, If your coming home and his eyes are red, hes not acting his happy self (not wanting to go to bed) I would think its either seperation anxiety or there is something wrong. Listen to your gut its been my biggest help.

thanks, the truth is its his grandmother, my mother but I know she is famous for treating her grandchildren differtley she favors some more than others. He isnt old enough to tell me. Im trying my hardest to start an in home child care so I can just be home with him. But so far no luck in finding people in need.....ugh

Sounds very weird, Have you spoken to your little boy and asked him what's troubling him. did you do a back ground check on this sitter.
