Hi! Don't use regular adult toothpaste! Fluoride is toxic if swallowed, and young children don't know how to spit it out yet. I went to the health food store and got a little tube of toothgel that didn't have anything potentially harmful is swallowed. It threw me off at first because all the natural baby pastes there were called "toothgel" instead of "toothpaste," but it's worked great for us, and lasts a long time because you don't need to put much on the brush.

we use a childs toothbrush and toddler toothpaste if you use adult toothpaste it may upset their stomach if they swallow it a lot.... the toddler toothpaste cleans the teeth but is safe to swallow... and as far as lynlee saying they are hopeless i dont see that cause my son is two and we have been using it since he got teeth at six months and he has perfect white teeth

Gerber makes a special toothpaste & brush that come in the same package its like 3 bucks & lasts about 2 months if your little one doesnt have a lot of teeth you may want to buy their infant one with the gum cleaner. this works great for my kid & the dentist said they dont generally have a lot of plaque anyway. If you have a toys r us or babies r us there they have it for sure.

A junior toothbrush - check the ages on the packet and a tiny smear of adult toothpaste (not whitening). Baby toothpastes are hopeless.
