My Favorite is the Alphapet Series. My mom got it for me when i was little (im 23 now) There is one book for each letter of the Alphabet with a new main character in each one...Albert the Absent Minded Alligator, Bradley the Brave Bear, etc. At the end of each book is a page of about 8 pictures starting with the letter of the book. And at the very end is the alphabet. My 2 years old daughter loves them, and we always ask her what the pictures are at the end of each book. She learned a ton of new words very quickly. We also sing the alphabet song at the end each time, she learned her alphabet in about 2 days!

HHmm...My family (my three year old, five year old, and me) prefer the orginal books that are cute and rhyme. Like...a few of our favorites are...
Cloud Cuckoo Land
The Fish Who Could Wish
The Duck Got Stuck
My School Is a Zoo
Rachel Fister's Blister
Aliens Love Underpants
Inside a Zoo In The City
Quick As a Cricket
Good Thing You're Not An Octopus
Ten Little Dinosaurs
Gerald Mcboing Boing
Jonathan Jasper Jeremy Jones
and my personal favorite is one I read the kids to teach them empathy (and it works) though it makes me a sad a little...it's called "For Every Child a Better World" and it talks about how there are kids out there who have no homes or medicine...almost no food and or live in a place where there's war. It's a good book to help your kids appreciate everything they have too (and one of the only ones on the list that doesn't Rhyme).

Goodnight Gorilla by Peggy Rothman (or her last name is clsoe to that) is really cute. The Big Red Barn by Margaret Wise Brown and Pajama Time by Sandra Boynton are favourties with our two year old. Elmer the Elephant is good too...

My 3-yr-old LOVES "No More Blanket for Lambkin" by Bernette Ford.I enjoy reading it as well! It's a playful story about letting go of a comfort blanket. The dirty blanket gets washed and is turned into a little toy lamb.
We also love "The Foolish Tortoise" by Eric Carle. He sleeps with his stuffed turtle "Turtis" every night.
