What should I teach my four year old sister before she starts kindergarten? Should she absolutely know anything specific before she enters?

I agree with what's already been said. Also, tying shoes is a great thing to practice, though of course not necessary.

abc's, count to at least 10, write name, cut paper with child safe scissors, and colors
**also this isnt a must but its a good idea to teach lil ones there address and phone number incase they ever got lost or something my mother taught us this before we started school just incase we got off the bus at the wrong spot or something**

she needs to know her name so she can say "here!" when the teacher goes through the list and she needs to know how to get herself put back together after she uses the toilet. aside from that they'll start at the beginning of the 123's and abc's, shapes and colours but if she has started talking about those things practicing is a good thing....

Alphabet, colors, counting to 10, able to write first name. At least in the U.S.
