When do take away the bottle or cup at bedtimes?

I have a 22 month old that has just been taken off the pacifer a couple of weeks ago. She had a couple rough nights and then been fine since. She still has a bottle at bed time and nap time though. She drinks fine out of sippy cup during the day and has since 6 months of age, but I've still given her the bottle at bedtimes. I am now wondering when to take away giving her something at bedtimes and what might be the best way to do it. I've been told just to give her water in the bottle until she doesn't want it anymore and I've been told to just go cold turkey and listen to her cry for a while - she'll eventually get tired and stop. Some have told me to just give her a sippy cup then too, but I don't want her having to drink anything in order to go to bed. So, I'm looking for any opinions you all might have out there. I want to move her to a toddler bed by 2 years and to not have her needing anything at bedtime by then also. Thanks!

I weaned my son from all that when he was 21 months (left naps and bed time for last, very gradual weaning), I just told him no more of that he was a big boy now and that was for babies. I decided he needed a change in his room to distract him from the memory of drinking to fall asleep, so I converted his toddler bed and I guess that helped. I also told him to stay in his bed until the sun came up, and to this day he does that. And for naps I just tell him not to worry when he wakes up and feels better we will play. He falls asleep all own his own these days, if he isn't very tired he will try to get up and come out of his room. If he looks like he is wide awake I don't force him to bed, but if he looks tired and almost fussing, I take him back to bed and give him a kiss, tell him I love him, and walk out. On rare occasions when he is tired, he does get up 3 times before falling asleep, that's within 15 min of each other, but as long as he looks tired I take him back same routine he knows very well now, and do it again for him. He falls asleep on his own, and even gets up out of bed after his nap acting like he is grown joining us in the house.
