None of my older kids (there are 8 of them) trained until they were around 3, and it didn't matter if they were boys or girls. I'll see how it goes with my youngest since he's 22 months old now...

I have two boys and my first was completely potty trained at 22 months and my youngest is now 20 months and completely potty trained. I had a very easy time with both of them. They didnt like the diapers. (My oldest never wanted to even wear undies) They started bringing there diapers to me and walking off thats when I started with mine figured if they knew to take them off it was time to try. But all children are different I have a in home childcare and a little girl that is 24 months who refuses to go in the potty. I wish you the best of luck, and lots of patience.;)

all children are different, my daughter was trained at 21months.
i dont believe girls are quicker at training i no lots of boys that were quicker at training (i used to work in a nursery) all children are different and it all depends on that and also how the parents go about it. good luck.

Hi there,
I too think girls and boys are different. From my experience my boys were later then my girls. I have 7, 4 boys 3 girls. With two of my boys I did cheerioes in the toilet, so going potty was a game cause they got to shoot the cheerioes. My last one was a girl and I think because she would see her brother's go she picked it up from them. She was potty trained a week before her 2nd birthday. And at first would try to stand forward. I think your child will kind of let you know when they are ready. For my boys 3 were right before they turned 3, one was a month after he turned 3.... Good luck!

Hi,I think it all depends if u have a boy or a girl. They say boys very hard to potty train.I Have a 31/2 girl and i tried when she was 2 and both of us weren't ready so we forgot about it and 4 months b4 her 3rd b-day i had a baby and we we both ready for the whole potty thing, and it only took a week.I think that she saw her friends in school using the potty and her baby brother using a diaper,so she realizes she didn't wanted to be a baby anymore.Anyways if u think that ur child is ready just let her/him wear undies ALL day long,he/she will have accidents but u have to keep showing him/her where the potty is and if she does use the potty give her a prize(M&m's worked for me),keep trying and u'll know if he/she and YOU are ready.Good luck!!
